I am really confused most of the time when it comes to Resizing Objects.

For Grouped and Text Objects, we don’t have to press SHIFT when resizing so that it change ratio

BUT for Single Object, Or Multiple Selected Objects we HAVE to press SHIFT.

IF we mix Objects and Text, it’s different (I actually forgot what it is) BUT if the PARAGRAPH TEXT is selected, then it’s a different thing unless you use the Bottom Right Node to Resize.

Can there be a Universal rule in the next update, so that there is no more confusion.

There is setting in Edit > Settings > Tools

That you can change to change the default behaviour

It's called...

Move Tool Aspect Constrain

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

FWIW, Move Tool Aspect Constrain is mentioned in the Tools options section of the Settings (or Preferences) help topic for AD V2, but it is not obvious from that how the "Automatic (based on selection)" choice works.

In essence, it assumes that objects like Pixel & Image layers, text objects, & rectangles & other 'quick shapes' have a natural aspect ratio, while other objects like those drawn with the Pen or Pencil Tools do not. So while this choice can be confusing, if you use it & put the Move Tool pointer over a control handle of the object, the status bar at the bottom of the window will tell you if Shift is needed or not to constrain the aspect ratio.
