Object count

Is there a way to count the objects in a stoke? I use a line tool and then I change it to 3mm or 4mm dots. When I select the square or line or shape to see how many dots I have it does not tell me the number of dots I have.

You mean a dash line style stroke and how many dashes (or dots, depending on the options you select) it has?
Workaround:

  1. duplicate the object in ADe and make sure it's selected in the Layers panel
  2. Layer → Expand Stroke
  3. Layer → Geometry → Separate Curves
  4. see the contextual toolbar for object count, then group, disable or delete the selection

If you mean nodes, then the workaround is similar:

  1. duplicate the object in any of the three apps and make sure it's selected in the Layers panel
  2. Node tool
  3. select all nodes (Select → Select All)
  4. click the Break Curve context toolbar action button
  5. Move tool
  6. see the contextual toolbar for object count, then group, disable or delete the selection

(Thanks to @carl123 for the idea)

Also, it's not a "bug" but a feature request.
@Callum perhaps you may want to move the thread?

Thanks this helped a lot!

  1. duplicate the object in ADe and make sure it's selected in the Layers panel
  2. Layer → Expand Stroke
  3. Layer → Geometry → Separate Curves
  4. see the contextual toolbar for object count, then group, disable or delete the selection
