Gianni Becattini
I am not able to synchronize the stiles from one chapter to the others. I believe I am doing the right things, but it simply it does nothing. The style source is set, and the settings are set correctly (see attachment). The only way I found is importing the source chapter into the destination and overwrite styles, but it is cumbersome. Can someone help me please? Gianni Becattini
Perhaps I understood that: both files (source and destination) must be selected both files (source and destination) must be open May it be? If all you need to synchronize at some particular time is Text Styles, there's no need to specify Master Pages. Gianni Becattini
Id does it again, i.e. does nothing; remains on the same screen and don't pass to ask which styles you want to replace. Any possible solution available? Quote More than 30 Macs, from 1984 Mac 512K Plus to 2020 iMac 27" i9

If you're still talking about the Synchronize function, it does not give you a choice when synchronizing the Text Styles. Help doesn't state that chapters must be open for syncing to work you're right, it doesn't work if they're not open. I think it would make sense to require the chapters to be open for syncing because the results aren't always what you want and if they're open you have the opportunity to discard changes before trying again with different settings. Perhaps Serif could clarify how it should work. @Gianni Becattini, you've found another bug. You should be able to sync any one of the four options independently but I tested it and I cannot get text styles to sync on their own. If I select: Text Styles only or Text Styles + Swatches: text styles sync Text Styles + Table Formats or Text Styles + Master Pages: text styles sync Swatches + Table Formats: text styles sync!! this makes no sense. I decided not to test all of the combinations because I'm sure this can be figured out, it's probably just reading the checkboxes in the wrong order. I'll log this in the bugs forum. Gianni Becattini
I tried and tried and I am confused... it seems sometime to work without problems, other times no hope. Which is the difference between "Synchronise" and "Synchronise setting"? With the first it seems to work more often. Sorry to be so generic, thanks Quote More than 30 Macs, from 1984 Mac 512K Plus to 2020 iMac 27" i9

With the first it seems to work more often. Synchronize just performs the synchronization immediately, without opening the dialog. Synchronize Setting... opens the dialog so you can change your synchonization choices, and lets you then perform the synchronization (or not). If you've got a couple of files that will only Sync when they aren't open, please attach them. Also when I say syncing worked on the closed chapters, I did have to select Swatches + Table Formats (bug logged) from the Sync settings but it did work for text styles on closed Chapters

I tested the closed chapter syncing before I realized that selecting text styles only didn't sync text styles. I tried it again with closed chapters and taking into account the sync settings radio button issue, it worked as expected.
