Hangman
I'm unsure if this is just me but when filtering cross-reference paragraphs (numbered in this particular case but for me, it's the same for all relevant text options) I'm seeing both duplicate and ghost entries as well as search results that bear no resemblance to the filter search term. It appears as though the list is being filtered using the first character typed in the search field but isn't subsequently filtered beyond that, i.e., after any additional characters are entered in the search field which results in an incorrect list of ghost items which aren't removed from the list after the complete search term is typed but which can be removed simply by clicking on any of the ghost items in the list itself. Clicking on any of the spurious entries in the search results removes all the bogus entries and likewise hovering over an entry so the tooltip is shown 'wipes' the bogus entry beneath the tooltip itself... This is happening regardless of whether Hardware Acceleration is enabled or disabled and regardless of the Publisher document... I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is experiencing this issue on Mac or Windows... MikeTO
@Hangman I can't duplicate that with my documents or with a fresh test document. There has to be another condition but I'm unsure what it could be. Hangman
@MikeTO, many thanks for testing, I figured that would likely be the case... I'm seeing several refresh issues in the current Beta but they only appear to affect the x-ref's panel for some reason, though it was interesting that you also found that refresh issue when updating text styles... I'm struggling to think what other condition there could be at the moment... tzvi20 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.2.0 | Affinity Photo 2.2.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.2.0Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.6 MacBook Pro 16GB, macOS Monterey 12.6.

Hangman
1 hour ago, Gabe said: Have you tried a CTRL run-up? Hi @Gabe, Yes, this is after a full Ctrl run-up, exactly the same issue, it looks very much like a screen refresh problem and is consistent regardless of the document (for me) and it only appears to impact the Cross-References panel, as in, I'm not seeing a similar issue with the Find and Replace option... The 'ghost' entries can be cleared in one of four ways: Manually clicking on one of the ghost entries in the search results window Scrolling the search results window regardless of whether there are enough results to scroll Clicking the Preset dropdown Clicking in the Text entry window Clear Ghost Entries.mp4 In a strange way it 'feels' a little like the issue @MikeTO posted about re-text styles not refreshing correctly (AFB-8321). Hangman
Hi @Gabe, I appreciate you've likely not had time to follow up with this in the run-up to the launch of 2.2 but I just wanted to present a simpler example showing the issue... Basically, (for me and I'm amazed I appear to be the only one) the cross-reference search option isn't filtering correctly when characters are typed into it resulting in duplicate entries which shouldn't appear, e.g., Typing 'a' correctly shows the four instances of paragraphs starting with 'a' Adding 'b' so the search is for paragraphs starting with 'ab' should now remove 'a' but it doesn't, instead, it duplicates the last entry 'Abcd' unless I scroll the window or click on the last entry Adding 'c' so the search is for paragraphs starting with 'abc' should further remove ''ab' but it doesn't, it again duplicates the last entry 'Abcd' unless I scroll the window or click on the last entry Adding 'd' so the search is for paragraphs starting with 'abcd' should further remove ''abc' but it doesn't, it again duplicates the last entry 'Abcd' unless I scroll the window or click on the last entry Adding 'e' so the search is for paragraphs starting with 'abcde' correctly removes all entries Note: simply switching to a different app and back again also clears the spurious entries. Staff Gabe Posted September 20 Staff Share Posted September 20 This appears to affect macOS 12 and before. Do you have a macOS 13 that you can try it on at all?

Hi @Gabe, Does that mean you've been able to replicate the issue? I don't currently have access to macOS 13, but I assume from your feedback that it's working correctly on Ventura? Staff Gabe Posted September 20 Staff Share Posted September 20 That's correct. I can replicate it on an a Monterey machine. But wanted to see if it's fine for you on a Ventura machine too.
Hangman
I have every reason to believe it would be as I know Mike has tested on macOS 13 and he didn't experience the issue and if you're also seeing it on Monterey and earlier but not Ventura then at least we know where the issue lies... Is this deemed to be a bug, as in something that will be actively fixed or is that unlikely? It's not a major issue but just curious. Staff Gabe Posted September 21 Staff Share Posted September 21 It is definitely a bug. It started off as a general issue affecting all OS'. It got fixed, but it looks like it was Ventura specific.
Hangman
Hi @Gabe, okay, thanks for clarifying... I didn't see any bug reference for it, hence the question...
