CreativeNewbie
Hi, is it possible to create a project on a single page that later extend over multiple pages and print it on multiple DIN A4 sized pages so I can put the pages togehter and get a big image? Is there a way without tile the pages? Should I use Publisher or Designer? Thanks a lot! Danke!
v_kyr
That's usually nothing where specific common graphics software is needed for, as some printers and so their printer drivers do already support some sort of poster printing here for large images/drawings. Or for a software example Adobe Reader also can print out a huge image sized PDF file spread out over several paper pages then, the option there is also called print poster, which will split the image into multiple pages ... Other than that one can also always split huge images into equal sized parts and then printing out the several image parts on several paper pages ... So all in all there are many ways to do that and thus also with Affinity based software! thomaso
The Affinity print dialog offers the option Document Layout > Model > "Tiled". To me in APub V1 this option seems to require a document page size that is larger than the print sheet size, so for an A4 document just setting a scale value above 100 % + activating "Tiled" appears to fail. Every thing else wouldn't make so much sense here and being a waste of paper. Why that? – Like I can place a tiny image scaled to fill a large layout page I can create a layout in A4 and want to print that to fill A3, with or without a corresponding resolution. Accordingly I can want to print a small photo as poster on several sheets. To me the dimension of the layout would be fully irrelevant for this process and just influence the required scale factor but not the ability to get printed as "Tiled". – That is the way & workflow I experienced various times successfully working in Acrobat for instance. You should know better that Affinity doesn't autoscale small/tiny images, so things, accordingly on it's own for this purpose here. I don't expect it to "auto"-scale "on its own" – I just expect it to respect a scale value set by the user. To know "better" whether the V1 bug reports you linked to have been fixed in the meantime in V2 it requires the "tiled" printing experience of a V2 user. Komatös
If I'm not completely stupid, you control poster printing via the printer's own settings menu. In the printer driver menu, I selected Poster as the output type and 4x4 partial prints here. The parts are printed with crop and lay-on marks. Borderless printing is not provided for here. DavidaK
Hi I'm having the same issue. I've created an A4 document and I need to print this in various sizes, the largest being 480% A4, so that I can display it outside to advertise a show I am involved with. I've done this previously, in PagePlus, and I'm pretty sure that I've been able to do the same in Publisher previously, but it is not now working. I have a printer that will print on both A4 and A3 paper. If I select A3 the most I can enlarge the percentage to is 150%. Anything greater than this does not affect the preview image, whereas previously, this would show how the page would be split across multiple pieces of paper and allow me to change the orientation to reduce the number of pieces of paper it would use. The print dialogue does show 15 pages, but the image is only shown on page 1. Edited December 6, 2023 by DavidaK
