Automate Passport photos

I'm making a lot of biometric passport photos on a daily basis and I'm wondering if there's a way to automate the process as much as possible.

My current workflow is:
- Opening a premade affinity photo file with the guiding lines and 35x45mm
- drag and drop RAW file
- it opens way to big so I have to manually downscale
- move around so it fits the biometric guide lines
- press the auto correct everything button
- save file

Repeat

And for some photos I then also need to print them in a 5er row

Is there a way to maybe batch autocorrect all photos at once and then afterwards place them in a all in documents where the at least already are automatically fitted to the document size or maybe a pre defined scale?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Awsm0and Welcome to the Forums,

You could automate part of the workflow using a batch job.  You can record a Macro for the Auto Colours, Levels ect
and run that Macro as part of a batch job to resize the images to the correct size, so you won't need to resize the images when placing them into your template.  The bit I can't see how we could automate using Affinity Photo is placing them into your template.  As when you record a Macro for placing an image, it will also place the image that was selected when recording the Macro.

If you have Publisher, you could look at using database merge to place the processed images into your template.  More info on database merge is here.

Can you upload that file to the forum? - not sure I fully understand how/where you are adding the RAW file to it

Also, one of the RAW files would be useful (you can blur the face)

What magic witchery is this?

Where is that button located?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

You can borrow an image frame from Publisher,.

drop the raw files into them, they will scale to the frame size.
