Odd UI Scaling Issue in Publisher

Recommended Posts

I made a post a little while ago (linked below) regarding being unable to scale the right studio panel because of the loss of the double-headed arrow. In the post, I mentioned that I was also seeing some odd UI scaling in Publisher but when I came to record it I couldn't recreate it. I've just seen a repeat of the issue so I've managed to record it this time, though it's very intermittent and corrects itself after rebooting Publisher... to date, I've not seen the same issue in either Designer or Photo.

Note how the right studio panel can be pushed off the right edge of the screen and how it then scales when dragged to the left

I think this is just one more of the studio issues that have always existed. The studios are a bit glitchy. I've never seen this particular issue but the next time it happens try saving a preset. Then you should be able to get back to this problem on demand and maybe even share the preset with Serif.

I just gave it a go and ended up triggering the transparent studio divider issue again. This time I closed all the panels in the left studio aside from Pages which is the narrowest one - I closed them in place via the menu and not by floating them and then closing them. Then I made Pages its minimum width and closed the left studio. Then I chose TOC which was previously in the left studio and is wider. When it appeared I had a transparent divider and could see the app behind the Affinity window.

When I tried doing the same thing with re-opening Index and Notes into a studio that was too narrow, they opened up super narrow with the labels cropped off like this.

I can't seem to replicate that at the minute, but I'll keep trying.  I suspect there might be a step beforehand that triggers this to happen, so I'll keep poking it. And now I've replicated it! Seems once I follow @MikeTO workflow, I then get the weird scaling with the right studio.

I've just been able to replicate this and will get it logged with the Developers.  Doesn't seem to happen all of the time, as when I just tried to get a screen recording of it, everything worked fine, so I'll try again but I've seen it happen once, so thats a good start :)

Hi @stokerg, thanks for confirming and for the steps required to replicate... :)
