Can we please have a Lasso Tool for Affinity Designer (Designer/Vector Persona)?

I really wonder why there is no proper way to select points in the Designer persona other than the rectangle. I wish we had a lasso tool that would allow me to quickly select points / lines freely, just like we can select pixels with the lasso tool over there. The rectangle is stiff and why I understand that I can add or remove dots from the selection with keystrokes, nothing beats the speed of drawing around just the points i need in one stroke. 

From a technical standpoint as I see it: The tool itself is already in the pixel persona - all it takes is an algorithm that works with designer / vector data to find all points inside the area. And it needs an icon / shortcut to activate it.

This is needed for both, Desktop and iPad Versions, as it would speed up certain workflows immensely. Especially when using Tablets on Desktop or the Apple Pencil.

The Node Tool has a Lasso select mode (and a Polygon select mode) – to select nodes (points), see the Status Bar – but the Move Tool doesn’t.

Ooooooh so it's only an option when an object has already been selected AND you press alt. That's annoying, especially for the iPad version. At least I can help myself on the Mac now by selecting everything first (CMD+A) and then alt+dragging...

Thanks a lot. Still, my initial request stands: I want a dedicated lasso tool for general selection too (preferably with options like objects, nodes and both.

I use the Pencil tool a lot for note-taking and stuff and I just want to grab my stuff quickly and move it around - the rectangle creates too much collateral damage when moving stuff. A real flow killer.

I agree with OP. A move tool option that can select multiple tools with precision. Something similar to Node + Alt, but for Move tool would be ideal.
