It really impedes my workflow as I constantly use Copy From Clipboard to copy images from a 300dpi file to create a new file but they are massively oversized as they are at 96dpi. Sorry, I did realise that I can change the DPI in a document but what I need to be able to do is copy, e.g. a 10cm circle from a multi-layered image and have it open at its original 300 DPI in a new document of 10cm. This is so that I can save separate elements from files. This is what I thought New from Clipboard would do but it doesn't, the circle is be in the top left hand corner of a much larger, otherwise blank file if I do that. You can create Slices from your "separate elements" in the Export Persona of Designer or Photo, and Export them from there as separate documents.
