Stroke tool not working properly

I am busy designing a label for a water bottle brand and the Sjerrie part which needs a stroke doesnt stroke when its needs to stroke..

So 1st Attempt. It stroked just fine when I applied a stroke directly on text. After that I converted the file to curves and the stroke just dissapears. I can see in he layer panel that its applying a stroke, but I can not see on the main doc how it is stroking. I saved the file to svg and opened it up in Inkscape. There the stroke is applied perfectly.

I close Affinity Designer 2, reopened it and now the stroke does show how big its getting, but the measurements is all wrong. It keeps stating my stroke is 21pt, but when I click on it it gives me a whole different measurement.

Reproducing it s a matter of trial & error... Sometimes it works fine, other times it breaks. You just have to play around with it until it actually breaks.

When I first open your file and select the Sjerrie layer I see a Stroke of 100 points and Clear Colour. If I select a colour and a one point width then I see a more normal result.

Did you convert the file to curves or only the Text Layer? Converting everything at one go may be the cause of this. I added some text and put a stroke on it and converted the layer to curves and the stroke was still there.

@GerritJordaan Have you tried @Old Bruce suggestion as when I open your file, the stroke on the curves also has no fill applied. Selecting a colour and adjusting the stroke width on the Stroke panel resolves the text.

The stroke width under Decorations on the Character panel doesn't update from 21pt. What was your workflow up to that point for the text? So I can try to narrow down a possible and reproduce the issue.

I've also found a small issue with the Decorations, Outline Colour preview on the Character panel. Which will be logged with the developers.

My workflow after typing Sjerrie was that I can recall:

Apply stroke directly to text
Converted to curves
Stroke disappeared so I tried applying stroke again and it just didn't work this time.
Tried undoing and it just fails to undo so I tried working with what I have. Setting stroke at 1pt and setting stroke to 100pt. It just didnt work. 
As you can see on my screenshots that there's a white stroke applied. It only updates on the small preview in the layers panel when I adjust the size, but not on the main canvas.

I saved the file, close Affinity Designer 2 and opened everything again. Only then I saw that it doesn't update after 21pt. You can do whatever with that. It doesn't change.
