When creating a new layer from that selection, the part not selected become transparent. Like that for example. How to make a copy of the selected area on its own layer. Thanks. NotMyFault Posted August 13, 2023 Share Posted August 13, 2023 The best way is to crate the selection make a copy as new layer (this is the default if you duplicate or copy/paste) Use move tool to get the copy where you want it merge down the copied layer to the original layer. Affinity prefers the principle of „non destructive edits“, meaning keeping everything in separate layers. but you can merge any time layer if you want to combine multiple layers back into one layer. Or a screen recording of the complete window, so we can see what's happening?
