broken export - exported pngs don't match the document

Recommended Posts

document made in af designer beta, edit: then copied contents into af photo stable to see if it behaves the same, unlinked the linked tint layers, still broken.

image.png.48050e986bf1f02d13be609597148915.pnggot nice little procedural setup for assets, main thing is symbol, changed just tint in each of them by toggling Sync button in symbols window. image.png.6ab6c9acd23d9970ac7a9214d34c6959.png

shows up like this in export persona, and exports like this also.

Could this be related to the previous issue I had

I guess nobody actually tries to use these features which are the main selling point for professional work over something like PS with their absolutely terrible exporter. But yeah, obviously this completely breaks the software for me. I'm starting to regret I bought the upgrade, any kind of pressure beyond the most basic usage breaks it. Also the designer/photo separation doesn't make any sense after some use.(except of course, from the sales viewpoint)

edit: Also getting crashes when drawing intensively (lots of switching tools, manipulating layers etc, selections) with openCL active (AMD graphics unfortunately), but can't be bothered to reproduce at this point.

There is no guarantee that that workflow will work 100% correctly and completely. Why are you trying to copy from the beta to the retail release? What were you trying to accomplish that can't be done directly in the retail release?

I copied it into photo just to see if it happens also in photo stable version, not as part of the workflow, should've made that clearer. I would be very happy if this was a beta issue but given my previous experiences with the diverging document/export on stable versions, chance of that is probably zero. There are clearly core technical issues with how the software handles any nontrivial exporting.

I apologize for the tone, but I am getting fed up with this, general state of 2D software for professional use is just terrible, I wrongly put my hopes into Affinity and those are just getting crushed the more I try to use it.

And yes there are workarounds, when I rasterize the symbols on the artboards I can export it fine, but I refuse to accept having to dance around broken software I paid for. It also gets very annoying very quickly if the number of assets goes up and with missing layer search.

Hi @mb69,

In the export persona layers panel the 'Tint' Recolour adjustment had been unchecked as visible on export, if you enable this the different colours per artboard are correctly reflected in the export persona and the exported slices.

Oh thanks, nothing better than to be proven idiot.

This had to be toggled manually by me at some point hasn't it. Seems like it doesn't do it automatically.

Oh well. Sorry about that then. Keep fixing the gpu/responsivity stuff tho.
