Brushes revert to default pixel width after changing tool (Designer)

Recommended Posts

I use Designer's brush a lot, with my drawing tablet. Except for the ulgy artifacts it creates when a stroke ends with heavy pressure, I find it quite good for drawing. One thing I can't figure out is why it won't keep the brush size I choose. Example: I'm drawing with an 8 pixel-wide brush. Then I use the (V) move tool to edit some strokes. Then I press (B) brush again to continue drawing. Now I find the width is not 8 pixels anymore, it has reverted to the brush's default setting.

This is quite annoying because if you're drawing with a certain width you need know it'll stay constant and will change only when you set a different value or press the brush in the panel, to go back to its default. Either I'm missing something important about using brushes, or this could be a bug. Thanks, sorry for the long post.. :)

Update: after using another tool (like the move tool), the brush actually changes to a different one. When I look at the brush panel, I don't see the brush I was using but another brush in another brush set. To me this looks more and more llka a bug. In the attached images, no. 1 is the customised brush I'm using in the brush set "Josh", no. 2 is what happens after I use the brush (or press B) after having used another tool: different brush, different brush set.

The brush studio shows pt value only,

Really? It seems to show px only, for me.

apologies, I meant the stroke studio panel.

Thanks.

That one is also controlled by Settings, User Interface: Show Lines in Points. It will either be points, or the document units (which could be px).
