What OS do you use?

When you say you're trying to add a pixel brush border, what do you mean? Are you using the Brush Tool, and painting with it? Or are you trying to use the Stroke panel (which won't work with pixel brushes, but which shouldn't crash).

Do you get any crash reports?

(Note: those directions are for the retail release, not the beta, so they may need some adjustments if you're really using the beta rather than the 2.1.1.1847 retail release.)

Also, why are you using the beta instead?

Walt - crash is probably not the right description.   Designer stops responding and hangs -- for a very long time -- until I close the program.  I've never gotten to the point of having a crash report.  It always happens when I have an object selected and then click on a pixel brush.

RC-R - I've been downloading updates as they come out.  I've been to the website and can't figure out how to get the retail version.  It says I'll be prompted to download when it's ready -- and I've been downloading, but it's always (Beta) never retail.  I bought V2 Universal and shouldn't have to repurchase, at least that's what the website says, but I don't know how to get the retail one installed.

The retail and beta versions of the software are different applications which are installed separately.

The beta software will only update to new beta versions and the retail software will only update to new retail versions.

If you want to update the retail software then you need to launch the retail software and then update (if an update is available).

You cannot update from a beta to the retail version.

If you are having problems updating the retail V2 software, and you can give us some screenshots showing how you are updating/downloading the software, then we can probably help further. (Remember to obfuscate any personal information before sharing the screenshots.)
