snh230 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I got a few fonts installed via CC, but when I open the preferences window for V2, e.g., Publisher, the window is empty. It doesn’t show any fonts. Opening any documents that use custom fonts shows the type in red, i.e., it’s not located. Discovered in v2.1.0.1799 Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I think that the list in the application Settings shows only the fonts that you installed there, from within the application. It would not show fonts that were pre-installed on the iPad, or installed via other mechanisms. I do not know if CC fonts are usable in the Affinity applications on the iPad. Bryan Rieger Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Unfortunately on iPadOS Creative Cloud fonts[1] are only available to Creative Cloud apps. You can either load fonts via Affinity’s font settings as @walt.farrell mentioned or use an app such as Fontcase (scroll all the way down) to install fonts at the OS level and make them available to all iOS/iPadOS apps; Keynote, etc. [1] On macOS I routinely use Adobe fonts with the Affinity apps via Creative cloud sync, however as Adobe has been adding more and more variable fonts in recent months (which Affinity apps do not support) I’ve had to be careful about which Adobe fonts I activate. Add the fact that you can’t (easily or legally) use Adobe fonts on iPadOS outside of Adobe apps, I’ve generally switched to using Google Fonts (which I can download and install the .ttf/.otf files) wherever possible. Staff NathanC Posted June 16, 2023 Staff Posted June 16, 2023 Hi @snh2058420972, There is a known issue which is logged with the developers where fonts installed via Creative cloud that have been added to your font book appear missing (in red) for the first app session, if you restart your app the fonts should appear available for use, so it does work but requires a restart if you install further fonts. walt.farrell 1 Quote

In the app, the font is now shown not in red, but in dark colour and no other font can be selected (see attachment). Strange, I'm not seeing that behaviour, after I install a Font in CC and add some text to a frame using that font (used Bilo to test) it will appear in red as an unrecognised font, after I restart the app and re-enter the document my text has changed to the correct font and i can go into the character panel and change the font without any issues. What about if you create a new document, add a text frame and change the font to Bilo along the context toolbar? This was done on an M1 ipad Pro running 16.5, what iOS version and iPad model are you using? Also, is there any difference following a reboot of your iPad? Quote
Bryan Rieger Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Huh, I’ve never had any luck with Adobe CC fonts on iPadOS outside of Adobe apps. I’m using the same set-up as @NathanC. I’d be very interested to find if they are in fact useable. Quote

Oh, this is not a bug, just my fault, apologies. The layer was locked, didn't notice that. It's working fine now. Quote
