Why is the Vector Pen Not Creating New Layers?

Recommended Posts

I'm laying down some basic vector shapes - closing them - for a new project

For some reason I can't work out though it's no longer creating a new layer when I close an object and starting laying down new points - what am I doing wrong ? has some setting changed ?

What button have I pressed ?

Sounds like you are using specific Pen Mode toggle!
On context Menu with pen selected: Pen Mode: have you activated 'Add new curve to selected object'?

Can't see the icon on my toolbar though ?

If you're still interested, a screenshot of what you do see might be helpful.
