MikeTO Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 The only thing I see in the section manager when opening the document on a desktop that might be a clue is that two of the section names have punctuation (curly) apostrophes. Perhaps the iPad version doesn't handle those well so I converted them to typewriter (straight) apostrophes and resaved the document. And just to rule out other factors, I first saved the document without changes. So try opening unchanged.afpub and changed.afpub and then opening the Section Manager. Please let us know if either of them works for you. changed.afpub unchanged.afpub Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.2, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
walt.farrell Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Both of them still crash Publisher 2 on my iPad, @MikeTO, when I click on Sections in the Pages panel. So apparently what you noticed isn't the cause, but thanks. MikeTO Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Just for fun, try this one on an iPad and open the section manager. This version is the original document with all non-master layers removed. This shouldn't make a difference but I assume it will work fine. The section manager just has to get the section names, page counts, and page numbering details when opening the dialog so the layers should be irrelevant but unless I missed something with my last test document, it appears to be something a bit more obscure. MikeTO Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 I ended up installing Publisher on my iPad Pro after posting the last test document. There was something else I wanted to test today so I broke down and installed it even though I don't need it on that device. While it crashed for me, too, it didn't crash if I did a couple of things first. Open the doc Add two page spreads Delete the two new page spreads Open the Pages panel Tap Manage Pages Close Manage Pages Tap Sections - now it works for me I didn't spend the time to figure out which of these steps works around the issue but it's in there somewhere. walt.farrell and Kyoge 2 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.2, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
