walt.farrell Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Perhaps I'm confused, but the error message you show in the second screenshot seems to just say that the file already exists, and asks if you want to overwrite it. Can't you just click Yes? walt.farrell Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Thanks. That's certainly a different message than you showed before, but I would need more information on what you were doing to figure out the problem. Can you record a video of the process? myclay Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 To me it seems you are trying to save into onedrive? That might cause issues. I think if you where to save it into your lokal Bilder/picture folder it would work. walt.farrell Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Yes, OneDrive sometimes causes problems, so it's a good idea to try a directory that it doesn't manage. OneDrive can cause problems, so you should try saving or exporting somewhere else. A local drive on your machine that OneDrive is not set up to manage. Examples of problems: OneDrive may migrate the data off your machine and into the cloud. While it is doing that, it may rename the file. If it does that, it may appear the file does not exist locally. So, since you got a message saying the file does not exist, that may be part of the problem. OneDrive may lock the file while it is copying it to the cloud. If that happens, you might get a different message. Wernyco Posted May 21, 2023 Author Posted May 21, 2023 es ist nicht Onedrive sondern die Zugriffsrechte in Windows 11 Und ich habe keinen blassen Schimmer wo ich das Programm hinzufügen soll es gibt da keinen Reiter. Quote
Or is Windows not allowing the application to access the folder? The latter can be caused by your chosen Windows security settings, for example Controlled Folder Access. And if you've chosen that setting, it is your responsibility to configure Windows to allow the access. If you're using the MSIX-based (standard) versions of the applications, perhaps you need to uninstall them and install the optional EXE/MSI-based versions instead, which may be easier to use with the configuration dialogs for Controlled Folder Access, from some other reports here in the forums. Rembrandt Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I have the same issue (AP2, Windows 10): Saving in folder A is working but in folder B (both in same user account) results in error "File can't be found", which is absolutely not helpful, as there is nothing to be found because I don't want to open st but export. "File not found" can indicate that you don't have permission to save in folder B. And that, in Windows, might mean that you have enabled the Windows Controlled Folder Access function, and haven't granted the Affinity applications the proper permissions to save in that folder. Or you might have some other anti-malware software configured in a similar way. (Ideally, the Affinity applications would recognize the first failure to create a file in that location, and complain then rather than only noticing the missing file later in the operation.) Rembrandt Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 @walt.farrell Thank You very much for You view upon it. Eventually it turned out to be the MS Defender's restriction, indeed. But I'm used to a clear message from either the blocked application or the Defender itself (the latter appears on my third try). So this might be a room for improving the UI messages of AP. 😉 Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 You're welcome. Thanks for confirming what the issue was. It would be helpful if you could also tell us exactly what you set to allow it, and how to locate that setting. Rembrandt Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Of course I'll help You with some additional informations. However I was guided with an alert (even acoustically) by Windows ("xy was blocked") which I was following to allow an exception. That's what I meant with usual way. The other way I've had experienced is a (truthfully) speaking error message from the application; however making an unguided exception within the Windows Defender is really hard as you have to name the application by its process name (which is not checked then). walt.farrell 1 Quote
