Brush icon in layer?

Recommended Posts

They are layers you've painted on during this edit session. If you click the icon you should get some brush history, and be able to deselect that set of brush settings again.

This was a new function in 2.0.

Walt, can you be the official tutorial guy? I hope you're on their payroll! I mean seriously, you are like the Affinity handbook. Thank you sir.

Am I wrong to say that these changes in the app are never talked about in an official way? I know there's always the HELP section of the app, but there really is good to have details what you just told me, come from them? Maybe I'm wrong here, but I am grateful for your help!!

You're welcome.

I'm sure it was covered in one of the What's New Tutorials for 2.0. I don't know if it's covered in any other official tutorials. And it's mentioned (but not illustrated or explained) in the Affinity Store section on Photo, Tech Specs, New Features in 2.0.

And it certainly should be in the Help, but I haven't managed to find it when looking this evening.

FWIW, there are a lot of things that the help topics don't cover, so something I do that partially makes up for that is to check the tooltips (which I have set to appear after a shorter than default delay), & when that doesn't help is to just click on whatever it is that is puzzling me to see if I can figure out what it does or how it works.

More often than not, that is faster than searching through the help topics or composing a post here & waiting for a reply.
