AD2 (Beta) Corrupted save file & backup file.

Recommended Posts

Hi. About an hour ago I saved my work (to external drive & to iCloud).

I checked the saves, and all seemed well. However, have gone back after a short break, and neither save file is loading, and I’m getting a ‘corrupted file’ message.

I have previous saves, but what I’ve done today has been - to be blunt - a pain in the backside, and I’d rather not have to repeat it.

II there any way of taking a look & seeing if it is recoverable??

I’m using Designer 2 Beta.

MacBook Pro 16GB / OS 12.6.5

Have attached file, just in case.

Many thanks.

Best I can do for now, other things to do.

Had to export from Publisher as PSD then open and save in Designer

Integrity unknown, proceed with caution

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

It's a bit tricky to be sure that a Save was done properly (though of course they shouldn't be failing as often as they are). First, as recommended, it's best to save to an internal disk, and then copy to the final destination if needed.

But even ensuring the Save to an internal disk was good takes a bit of work:

  1. Save As under a new name, such as project1
  2. Save As under another new name, such as project1a
  3. At that point, you're actively working on a project named project1a.
  4. Open project1 (should be in the Recent list).
  5. If it opens properly, you can close (and delete) project1a. (Or keep project1a as another backup copy.)
