Spell-check :options

Recommended Posts

Suggest that Preferences>Auto-Correct includes an option to Ignore Capitalised. It doesn't know all the place-names in the world and these crop up as errors, needing attention to shorten the list.

The Word exclusions would be a good idea too -

The Auto-Correct function and Spell Checking are not related to each other, so I don't think that's a good place for such an option. I can understand the desire for having an option like that somewhere, but not there :)

I probably would not use that option, by the way. I prefer to verify that the capitalized words are spelled correctly, then either Learn or Ignore them. That way, a misspelled location name won't slip through accidentally.

Also, lack of that option is not a Bug. This is a Feature Request, and as such is more appropriate in the Feedback section of the forum. A Moderator will probably move this for you, unless you Hide this topic and repost it over there yourself.

All good stuff Walt - thanks very much. I didn't even know there was a Feedback section.

Now that Publisher has cross references (although it's delayed until 2.2), my #1 feature request is options to ignore capitalised words for spell check and hyphenation.
