Minor improvement of the Rounded Rectangle - Corner toolbar

Recommended Posts

Affinity Windows 11.
Please correct one annoying issue when setting corner radius in rectangles.
As the video shows.
The problem is this:
Create a rectangle.
In the context bar on the left there is a name: Rectangle.
Move the mouse over the Corner: field and set, for example, 20% with the mouse wheel.
All right.
Now click on the arrow icon and point to the rectangle you just drew. The name will change to Rounded Rectangle.
All right.
Now create a new rectangle.
In the context bar on the left there is a name: Rectangle.
Now click on the arrow icon and point to the rectangle you just drew.
Move the mouse over the Corner: field and set, for example, 20% with the mouse wheel.
And what's going on?
After setting the mouse wheel, 1% moves about 1.5 cm to the right of the field over which the mouse pointer was just placed.
Because the name is immediately changed from Rectangle to Rounded Rectangle, which moves the rest of the context box to the right.
Very often I catch myself that when I want to change the radius of the corner on the rectangle drawn earlier and pointing to it, only 1% is set by moving the mouse wheel over the field, and in a moment I notice that the radius values do not change anymore because the mouse pointer is not over the field radius value field.
In my opinion, it should be so that the name change on the context bar takes place only after clicking on the arrow icon.
Please try to do it as described.

Another thing.
If I select the Rounded Rectangle Tool icon in the tool panel and create a rectangle, the name Rectangle appears in the context bar on the left. Only after clicking the arrow icon changes the name on the context bar to Rounded Rectangle.
After selecting the Rounded Rectangle Tool and creating a rectangle with rounded corners, shouldn't the name Rounded Rectangle immediately appear in the context bar?

It's a minor thing, but with so many things being fixed and improved in this Beta, maybe those things could be improved as well?
Thank you.

Here you go. It's been a year since I started this post. Maybe it's time to fix this annoying problem. I keep getting stuck when I try to use the mouse wheel to change the value of the radius of a rectangle that was once drawn and when I turn the wheel, the entire numerical values are moved.

Serif - this bug has been going on for 8 years now. It's time to improve it. How much should I pay for it? Tell the price.

I just have one more question for Serif.

Does any of your entire crew work on your Affinity software? Thank you.

You're right, it shouldn't take that long.

I think so. Some time ago, there was an article on affinityspotlight.com in which Andy Capstick described how the Publisher Workbook was created using Affinity Publisher. There was also a video in that article, if you need a proof.

Also in one of the posts describing the new feature introduced in ADe and APub version 2.4, specifically "Layer states", you can find the following statement by Ash:

As an example, one of the social ad campaigns for our recent Black Friday promotion was created in Affinity Designer across multiple artboards.

He probably wasn't lying. Plus, it would be very strange to me if they didn't use on a daily basis the application they created themselves.
How to advertise and persuade others to buy in such case?
