Hi guys,

I'm drawing something in Designer, and I want to spread these three green circles over one quarter of the ellipse.

So, basically, the middle circle's center should be on the intersection of the ellipse and those two circles that I drew just for eyeing the supposed center of the middle green circle.

Is there a way to do this and not just guess?

For a circle/ellipse shape ... "enable the transform origin" point, so it's visable when you place that over lines. Enabling snapping together with that might be useful too.

I've enabled that, but the origin would still not snap to the ellipse

Try reducing the number of snapping options. You obviously want to keep snapping enabled for bounding box midpoints, but keeping anything else apart from object geometry is probably self-defeating.

Nah. It's not that..
Does anyone know it it's actually possible to snap to an object's line? I couldn't find that in the help. You can snap to the bounding box (which is not what I want), and to geometry (which is snapping to vertices, which, for the ellipse, is the same as snapping to the bounding box, as far as I understand it)..

And even more, I couldn't snap this circle's center to the point of a trapezoid, although that should probably be either "object geometry", or "shape key point". (I also tried converting the trapezoid to a curve).

Ooooh, I didn't know about that one!

Well, there's a reason why it's shown among the above Links I've initially pointed you to, namely in order to look after, try it out and make use of it. 😀
