Twolane Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Using Recolor, I can change the color of all the strokes at once to the same color in the group I have. I'm unable to change a single brush stroke color. Is that even possible without deleting and reapplying with a new brush stroke of the appropriate color? NotMyFault Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Can you explain what you mean by group? If the brush strike are on individual layers, you have a chance. If all brush strokes are made on a single layer, no simple way. you can of course use history and snapshot to create a before and after snapshot, to Analyse the difference and apply a recolor adjustment on that difference. Twolane Posted March 7, 2023 Author Posted March 7, 2023 The brush strokes are on individual pixel layers, which have been grouped. All right. I sort of solved it by adding a pixel layer beneath the brush stroke grouping. I used the bucket tool to paint the strokes and then selected a suitable opacity. It's not really what I wanted to do, but it's fine for now. I'll do more fiddling as my deadline approaches. Recolor will do something similar to the above when the brush strokes group is selected. For me it's a tossup as to which method is more effective for shading all the brush strokes at once. Edited to add that I have found a solution and can now color my brush strokes any way I want. Dazmondo77 Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Your attachment seems to be missing??? I find the easiest way to recolour is to use masks as anything in Affinity can be used as a mask (see screen grab) Super quick and fully tweak-able Screen Grab 1.mov Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 2.2.0 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6, Sonoma 14.7.3 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.5.7 Betas 2.6.0(3125) www.bingercreative.co.uk
Twolane Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 I re-placed my attachment. In the fresh light of a new day I have found a way to do what I want to do that was probably patently obvious to most of you here, and I'm happy with the method. I can change the color of my painted cover lines to my heart's content. It would appear as though my method may be similar to that which Dazmondo77 has demonstrated. I choose my swatch and then use the bucket and the Opacity layer. Thanks for your help, Dazmondo77! I might add, as usual, that these forums are a pleasant place to find help on almost any subject excepting brain surgery. I've been following the postings in the Beta section (I don't use Beta software). There appears to be plenty of improvements coming along nicely. Many bug fixes, too. I'm very much looking forward to the final version when it comes out. Now that the nay-sayers and whiners have disappeared for the most part, I'm sure the atmosphere at Affinity is much improved. Thanks to all of you for your hard and difficult work. Oh, one final thing. Did you ever get Affinity ported to DOS? I've been waiting patiently. 😁 Dazmondo77 1 Quote MacBook M3 Pro 18/512 - Now my daily driver. 2xDell laptops on Win 11 frozen at 23H2 - With 2 & 4 hours of battery life, they're already dead to me.
