Is it possible to replace decorations by images?

For the longest time I had decoration in a simple flat color for my text heading titles. Now I found a nice banner heading frame I would love to place behind these titles and center on the text. Is there any feature like that for text frames or would it only be possible with "text art" instead? I'm looking for the simplest way to do this.

I would recommend adding and positioning your text first then place the text art behind the text frame.

I am also not aware of a way to do this as text style property. – Regardless of the efficiency, just to complete the available options: you could apply a bitmap fill to the text frame. (which indeed would require in your example a separate object, too. If pinned it does flow with the text.).
