A customer or mine is having issues with a set of Affinity Styles which I created - when certain styles are applied to shapes, some of the attributes are not transferred (This works fine on my Windows 10 computer). This seems to happen when the style includes more than one pattern or texture 'fill'. They sent me this helpful video to help show the issue they are having - https://www.loom.com/share/f1564a4ef2e64fd7aa48682c7e78f444 and as you can see the applied style doesn't resemble the thumbnail on the styles panel.

they also provided the following info about their system:

Hi @The Artifex Forge,

Are you and your customer using the same version of Designer?  I've tried replicating this on my Windows laptop and haven't been able to as of yet.  Could you upload the styles shown in the recording to our Dropbox here and I'll try with those.

Hi @The Artifex Forge,

Can you just get your customer to start a New Document in Designer with the Colour Format set to RGB and then try using the styles and they should work.

If i have a CMYK document and try to apply your style, i get the same issue as your user where it looks like nothing has been applied, but if you check the Appearance panel you can see it has been applied but the Stroke and Fill colour have been reset to white.

Sorry for the slow reply - the customer only just replied. They say this is working for them. I would like to ask though, is this a known glitch? I ask because I've never had to start a completely new document to get styles to work before.

Have you ever tried your styles with a CMYK document before? That sounds like it may be the cause of the behavior.

I have been having some trouble applying styles in AD 2.6 but now I am working in 2.6.2. I've had various issues with the style I pick not applying and I can't figure out why. Or, after getting it to apply, any blend effect I attempt produces unexpected results and I don't know why.

 

I have a RGB document. I applied the style, after several attempts it finally worked, and got the expected result. However, I want to darken the style a bit and it's giving me unexpected results.

I'm attaching the afdesign template file.

How strange @mkpatrick6709 , I've taken a quick look at your file but it doesn't look like a style has been applied to the type - just two text layers, one which has been used to crop a texture. Could you have uploaded the wrong template or perhaps something else has gone wrong?

I have a quick suggeestion though - rather than using a blend mode to darken your type, could you use an Adjustment instead?

Hi The Artifex Forge,

 

It could be that something went wrong. I have been having several issues with my AD for over a month. I've posted several requests for assistance on the forum in the last month and have been in constant contact with Serif support. They finally had me reactivate my app, so hopefully all the issues I have been having will get resolved. I resolved this issue by choosing another design concept.
