Just a note. I reported a bug. When you do the stack, the remove background only works when you are on the stacked layer. By default, the first layer (curves) is selected instead of the stacked layer.

If you click on your avatar you'll see all your posts, and it's not there and here are the search results in that forum. It's not a problem I just didn't see the other report.

Is the problem new to the beta, or does it affect the release build too?

Hi Patrick. The problem occurs in both beta and production. When you do a new astro stack, Affinity puts 2 layers above it by default (Curves and levels). For astrophotography, you should be able to add adjustment layers only if needed, not have Affinity do it for you. If you delete these 2 layers, it works fine. I've attached an updated document I created that includes this problem and resolution. This is shown on page 3 and figure 6. Regards, Barney.

Hi @BarneyC,

Thanks for your report, as can be seen in the helpfile

Curves and Levels adjustments, with settings calculated during the stacking process, are added at the top of the layer stack.

This is expected behaviour and therefore isn't a bug.

This option cannot be disabled currently, though the Astro-Photography 'Stacking'  function isn't designed to be used with a singular image, so I suspect this is why your produced file may not look as expected with these adjustment layers.

I will be sure to move your thread to the Feedback section of the Forums, for our devs to see and consider adding an option that stops these adjustments from being automatically created. In the meantime I'd recommend simply deleting these Adjustments as you've mentioned in your PDF file.

I hope this clears things up :)
