The only way I know of, in order to make graphs for print, is by using Illustrator. That function hasn't changed much since the last millennium, and perhaps it doesn't need to change that much. There are some small independent app makers that try to provide a standalone solution, but that's mostly low quality ripoffs.

I, and I guess many more Affinity fans, would like to have that possibility within Designer. If it's inconvenient, then perhaps a standalone Affinity app would be possible? "Affinity Graph" would be a new way to find customers for the other apps, I'm sure. Make it possible to link the graph to specific content in Excel or Numbers, and you have a winner.

This sounds more like a Publisher thing, but we can always hope!

Have you tried copying a graph from Excel or Numbers and pasting it into an Affinity document?

Well, I don't know what your needs are.

But as I read "Graphs", "Nodebox 3" came to mind
and I wanted to at least share the thought.

You might want to take a look at it.
Here is the link.

Here some Data visualisation.

Nodebox can import .csv also .svg
and export .svg, .pdf, .csv and .png

Sure.
Works seamlessly. It's copied to the clipboard as PDF, so you can paste it as native curves and artistic text blocks, and then tinker with it in your layout as you see fit.

Exactly.
I surely wouldn't ever want to deal with that … uh, workflow (?) ever again… ;)
