Nigel Kendall Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 I've recently migrated from Photoshop to Affinity Photo and so far have been impressed. There is one issue however I need some advice on. In PS I was able to chose brushes that were either hard edged or feathered around the edges so that a burn or erase for example would blend with the background. This facility doesn't appear to be available on Affinity Photo. Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks, NK Quote

Staff MEB Posted February 6, 2023 Staff Posted February 6, 2023 Hi @Nigel Kendall, Welcome to Affinity Forums With the brush tool selected set the Hardness in the context toolbar to 0% to get a soft (feathered) brush and 100% for hard edges. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
h_d Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 The Basic tab in the Brushes panel (Window-Brushes in Photo v2) includes a number of 'feathered' or soft-edge brushes: And hiding under the unobtrusive Edit Brush button is a plethora of settings: Quote Affinity Photo 2.5.3, Affinity Designer 2.5.3, Affinity Publisher 2.5.3, Mac OSX 14.5, 2018 MacBook Pro 15" Intel.
