Pdkcooks Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) Upgraded to Ventura before downloading topaz. None of the plugins will launch from Photo V2 and I continue to get crash dialogs every time I try to launch from the plugins drop down. Edited January 20, 2023 by Pdkcooks Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 23, 2023 Staff Posted February 23, 2023 Hi @Pdkcooks, Are you still having trouble with Topaz? If so, please make sure you have launched each Topaz Plugin as a standalone app before trying to call them from Affinity and they should work. If you are still having trouble, please post a screenshot of your Plugins section of Preferences in Affinity. Quote
Pdkcooks Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Just tried it again and still having the same issue. I've got Denoise AI running and I tried launching it from the plug-in menu after developing a raw file. Got the same problem report after crashing. Quote
Pdkcooks Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Ok, I think I figured it out and just wanted to update. Initially I downloaded the v2 suite from the affinity site. At some point, my versions got switched for app store ones and I'm not sure when this happened, moreover I did not replace my versions and I am 100% positive I downloaded and installed directly from Affinity. Regardless, I deleted the app store versions and downloaded the dmg files again, re-installed and voila, the affinity apps now work seamlessly, except Gigapixel(obviously). Not sure why the direct downloads versus app store ones would cause this issue though. Quote
nickbatz Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Serious question, not snark: do *any* Photoshop plug-ins work inside Affinity Photo (1 or 2)? The only two I've ever wanted to use - Canon Pro Print & Layout and Gigapixel AI - don't, but they're not effects, they're programs that want to borrow the whole file. Does Qimage One's plug-in work? AiDon Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 GigaPixel AI will NOT work because the application uses an automation plugin and they are not supported by Affinity as in other non Adobe hosts. The option you have is to use Lightroom if you have it. Quote Both PC’s Win 11 x64 System PC1 ASUS ROG Strix - AMD Ryzen 9 6900X CPU @ 3.3GHz. 32GB RAM - GPU 1: AMD Radeon integrated. nickbatz Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Thanks. I'm guessing that Canon Pro Print & Layout doesn't work for other reasons? That's actually the one that would make me happy. Actually I'd love to derail this thread and talk about Gigapixel AI itself, but I would never do something like that. Quote
