Kelly Bellis Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Is there a practical limit for file sizes when working with AfPub2? I realize the difficulty in trying to answer such a question, but on an example system (shown below) and working on a book with many linked resources (book size 12" x 18") heavy with many high resolution large photographs and detailed maps, the actual .afpub file is relatively small (about 7 MB), whereas the exported PDF (press ready) is about 315 MB. I'm maybe about a quarter into this project and I'm just wondering about a performance threshold, and the recommended path forward to avoid further crashes/ and instances of (Not Responding). Thanks very much for any pointers. Kind regards, Kelly __________________________________ Quote
NotMyFault Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 It is impossible to estimate. There are users with files >> 1 GB without major issues. Most important is to use only internal SDDs to store any files related to your document. Do not store on external drives on NAS. Do not use cloud sync agents (Onedrive, etc) on those folders while editing Affinity files. You can copy or backup files after editing to other locations. Keep multiple generations of backups. Dan C Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Apologies for the delayed response here!
