Rich-Sad
I am working with the latest IPad version of Photo v2 on a 5th gen IPad Pro with IPadOS 16.2. I am creating a montage made up of multiple images that are all in my Photos on my IPad. This happened when I had 6 photos “Place from Photos” in my main image or 15. I Place the photos and then exit that image back to the main menu. When I open the main image back up 2 or three of the photos are now blurred as if they were now low res images. I was trying to recreate what happen to send you screen shots. I placed several images into a 10” x 15” main image and exited, reopened a few times and no blurred images. Then I put a Fill layer behind them (to turn the background from white to black). This is what I had done in my previous project. When I exited and reopened multiple images were blurred (see attached files) FYI, I used v1 to do the same task and it worked fine. Maybe a memory handling issue? Paul Mudditt
You say 10” x 15” but don’t mention DPI, can you check they are both the same on V1 & V2, so that we can check that the pixel dimensions of your document are the same on V1 & V2. I note your original images look a little blurred as well, are they lo-res images ? Also could you open up your resource manager and show us what is says about a blurred image please, like this. Even stranger, the last image doesn’t look like it was affected. Has it used linked images from photos or are they embedded? Missing linked images go lo-res. The resource manager should show if missing images. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Rich-Sad
Sorry for the delay. After having this happen to me multiple times in a row I can’t recreate it to show you the resources. I will keep trying. The images were both at 300dpi. V1 image and v2 image were practically identical.

Remember images once placed and rasterised will take on the resolution of your overall document irrespective of each images resolution so make sure your master document is large enough in pixel dimensions. S0 9mm = 0.305” x 300 = 105 pixels per image if rasterised so sounds like as DM1 mentions something is causing your image to be rasterised automatically, could be a lost link. If your files are not needed to be linked you could simply increase your dpi as shown here so that its impact is not so dramatic. Note many operations will automatically rasterise your image layers if a pixel tool is used depending on how you have the Assistant set up.
