Sebastian the K Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Hi there, wether I have a fullimant wrong expectation what happens in Photo v2 in comparison to Photo v1, or there is a bug. Please see the affinity file attached. When trying to crop/trim the only layer included, my expectation is that canvas size equals document size. But it doesn't. See screenshot attached. Or what do I do wrong. Help is highly appreciated. I am currently stuck in a batch process for about 1.000 pics. Thanks a lot. BR Sebastian 316323.afphoto 316323.afphoto Quote
Ron P. Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Cropping in AP is non-destructive. After cropping, you need to Rasterize and Trim. If you're using a macro, you need to go to Layer>Rasterize and Trim, after cropping. Does help with your issue? Skri Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Hi Ron, thank you for your reply. I am aware of that. Nevertheless, it does not destructivly crops after! executing "Rasterzie and Trim". Nether via the layer menue itself, nor the top menue "Layer". Any ideas? Quote
Ron P. Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Skri, there is something strange with your image/file. I see the issue you're having. For some reason AP2 does not want to trim. The strange part is, I can do a Copy, File>New From Clipboard, and then the trim works after cropping. I can Copy, and Paste into AP1, and the crop, and trim works. I can reconstruct it using my own image and the crop/rasterize trim works. I noticed Crop Marks in the Upper and Lower right corners. Did you use any other app/program to construct this image? If so which ones, Designer, Publisher, third party? Please provide as much info as possible, such as a step-by-step process leading up to this. Skri Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Hi Ron, thanks for coming back to me. As mentioned, I am stuck in a batch process for about 1k articles. Here is what I do: - I import a PDF print file (containg the mentioned crop marks in the bleeding box) to AP - I (non destructivly) crop a certain part of the PDF. Usually the right side of a double card. - I rasterize&trim the distinct layer (with the expected result of being destructivly cropped). The same happens when using PSD or TIFF files: After rasterzing and trimming in pics the canvas does not equal the trim box Hope this helps. Tec details: Win 10 22H2 19045.2364 AP 2.0.3.1688 Quote
Skri Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Hi NPM, the charm of cropping is the ability of a specific ratio to crop with, isn't it? Quote
Staff Chris B Posted January 12, 2023 Staff Posted January 12, 2023 This has Bleed on it - it looks like you'e brought it from Publisher. We cannot edit Bleed in Photo so you'll need to send it back to Pub. Ron P. 1 Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
