Not sure that my version upgraded to V2.

Recommended Posts

I installed my V2 Photo version and when it initially opened, it was noticably different with the icons, etc.    However, I did not have any of my paid or made brushes, assets, macros, etc.    Therefore, I exited out of Affinity.   When I reopened Affinity it indicated there was a new version.  I downloaded it and installed it.    There was also a newer version available so I downloaded and installed it as well.

Now, I have all my brushes, assets, macros, etc. that was missing initially but the icons and tools look as they had with the original version of Affinity.   It is reporting that my version is 1.10.6.1665.    Is this correct and is the latest and upgraded version?

Thanks.  If more information is necessary, I will provide.   Thank you!!!

You probably did install V2 and now have both V1 & V2 installed on your device

This is normal V2 does not overwrite V1

Look in your start menu and you "should" see icons for V1 and V2

(V2 does not install desktop icons as standard, I think)

If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

That's a APh V1 (1.10.6.1665) then, APh V2 should be indicate in the APh info panel as 2.0.3 etc. - There will be probably both versions be installed on your system, take a look where APh 2 resides to access that.

Thank you carl123 and v_kyr.   You are both correct.   Under "Start", I have two versions available for Affinity Photo.   Is it correct that I will have to reload all my assets, macros and paid (and made) brushes manually?    They are not showing up in the V2 application.

Thanks again!!  If this has already been addressed, feel free to direct me that way.

Thank you both!!

ADDED:  I just exported all my brushes, assets, and macros out of V1 and then imported into V2.   Aggravating to have it do it that way but it was fairly smooth.     Thanks again!!

Try holding down the CTRL key when starting V2 & then in the window that opens tick only "Reset Content Migration Prompt" & then click "Clear." You should then get a prompt asking if you want to migrate V1 content.

Note that not everything will be migrated but most of it should be.
