Exporting an ArtBoard to a file not possible

S. Bunge

Recommended Posts

I tried to export an ArtBoard to a pdf-file... after choosing the folder no further action is possible, no button to save. Nothing happened after pressing return on keyboard...

I am using iOs 16.2 on iPad 6. Generation. Perhaps a problem with the file dialog of iOS.

Try using the hamburger icon option export

I think S. Bunge was already past that, as they said "after choosing the folder".

Here's what I get when choosing the folder, and it's a simple matter of tapping Move:

@walt.farrell I was guessing he had gone to the Export - Persona as that is what many people new to the app go to and it is a little bit non-intuitive to get that to work.

Thanks. Yes, that one is trickier than using the Export action you mentioned.

For the Export Persona, you first choose a folder. Then you select the slices you want to export and click the appropriate buttons in the Slices studio.

Thank you for your answers. I was not using the EportPersona. Yes, that solves my problems. But in my opinion it seems not logic. I want to export and save an ArtBoard, not to export and move. Perhaps it's my german translation and meaning of the translated words.

If you were using the export method that @Paul Mudditt showed above, then your sequence of operations would be:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu
  2. Tap Export
  3. Choose options
  4. Tap OK

At that point you would get the screen I showed, where you navigate to the folder, provide the file name, and tap Move. I will admit that "Move" seems a bit odd to me. Save would make more sense. But it's located in the same spot as Save or the other actions (Open, etc.) would be, so to me it seems close enough :)
