Brush changes size whenever I switch to a new brush?

Recommended Posts

I feel like there was an option in V1 to have the program remember + retain the brush size from my previous selection but I can't find that on V2.  I am constantly picking new brushes and having to scale the brush size down with every new brush is time consuming (and a little rough when there's a lot of lines / information).  On ipad, Affinity Designer v2.

Thank you!

Opt/alt-click when picking a Vector Brush to maintain current brush width.

@,,,

On an ipad?

Note, I am not using the "Touch Shortcut" (pictured in the image below) as I am finding it a bit too abstract and have always been an ipad user so I dont have the keyboard shortcuts in my brain-map.  This would of course have the alternative for opt/alt-click.

I'm looking for something logical and simple on an ipad.  A setting that always stuck would be by far the best for me as 90% (maybe 99%) of the time want the brush size to stay the same.

Thanks for the suggestion and hope it helps someone else.

Command Controller-Option-Tap is your "logical and simple" option-click equivalent on iPad. That's why this controller exists.

The only literal "bad move" here, in my opinion, was the removal of the toggle button from the toolbar in v2.0.3 and placing it in the Document menu instead. :/

@loukash

I would still prefer a setting. Essentially flipping the default so that keeping the setting is the default and overriding the lineweight is the extra step.  This would be a HUGE time saver.  I thought I had just found such a setting in version 1 right before I switched to version 2.  Did I dream that?

I don't know, I've never used v1 on iPad.

As far as I'm aware there was no setting for this in V1 I'm afraid.
