Adas50
Hello, Ever since installing version 2 of the software I have noticed that it was much slower to open than the latest version 1. In the last two days the situation has worsened, to have all the palettes visible I have to wait more than two timed minutes. Another problem, this since the installation, is that to open a jpg of only 5 MB it takes more than 30 seconds, something that didn't happen in version 1, the opening of a 5 MB image was almost immediate. I'm running V2.0.3 of the software on the same machine as V1, notebook with Windows 11 64 bit, 16 Giga ram, Intel UHD Graphics 600. I don't know if it's a bug so I thought I'd post the topic in this forum
Brad Bell
Perhaps it's not due to version. I am using version 1.10.6 on a Mac (11.7.2). 30 dock bounces to launch. I just fixed it. I tested launching it on a different user account and it started right up. So the problem was with my account. I couldn't find a preferences file for Affinity Photo, but I deleted 2009-2018 preferences because they were cruft. Logged out and logged in and it worked. LOL. Messy troubleshooting. Prefs located at ~/Library/Preferences. Finder > Go > Go To Folder... Then add ~/Library/Preferences Maybe I've just had Affinity Photo a very long time and simply deleted a corrupted preference file. Testing Affinity Designer: 34 bounces. Solved! Now it's 4 bounces. Deleted 2 very badly named preference files (they should be named "com.serif.knowledge-agent.plist" so we can ID them) : knowledge-agent.plist ContextStoreAgent.plist bitkahuna
Adas50
Hi Brad, I am not able to find the folder you indicated, even the path in which to find it at least on Windows does not exist, among other things the new version for Windows is a sandboxed MSIX app so it does not appear in the programs installed in the control panel. Unfortunately the problem goes from bad to worse, at the moment of writing, in addition to waiting 3 minutes for the interface to be fully visible, I have to wait at least another minute before any tab becomes interactive. Let's not talk about the waiting time for opening even a small file or the delay to see any tool fully functional. I'm seriously considering reinstalling version 1. Staff Lee D Posted January 10, 2023 Staff Share Posted January 10, 2023 @Adas50 Sorry for the delay in replying. The speed at which the apps open isn't something we have much control over, pretty much everything is handled by the app and the OS. Our apps loads fonts when opening, so if you have a large font collection installed. Perhaps consider removing some to see if this improves the opening times. It's also worth making sure Windows and your graphics drivers are fully up to date. Something else to try is open the apps Preferences > Performance and make sure Hardware Acceleration is turned OFF. I currently have only 75 fonts installed. 22 hours ago, Lee D said: Windows and your graphics drivers are fully up to date They are updated as well as all other drivers. 22 hours ago, Lee D said: Preferences > Performance and make sure Hardware Acceleration is turned OFF This was the first thing I did before posting. While verifying all that you have suggested, the opening time of V2 requires Job's patience, which did not happen with V1 which I have used, with satisfaction, for more than two years on this same machine from which I am writing and on which it is installed the V2. I don't like bumping topics by writing nonsense to get them to the top of the forum, so I opened another topic, after a few days, with a more impactful title in the hope of being able to solve the problem, this is the link. I advise you to take a look at it because it has a large amount of screenshots and videos that will give you the real idea of what I'm talking about. I'm not against you but with you and I love working with your software but not in these conditions.
