mvanzyl Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 AP offers a perspective transform, but does not offer perspective guides (1,2,3 point, isometric, etc). Many competitors offer guides with snapping options built in that makes creating, aligning, and/or adjusting perspective much easier. This has been a requested feature for many years (see below) in V1 and does not yet seem to be anywhere in Designer or Photo for V2.... Adalbertus 1 Quote

Scodman Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 BIG plus one here I work in animation and this is the feature that would make Affinity a viable photoshop alternative in my industry. At the moment AP is useless for animation for this exact reason. Perspective guides are a crucial tool for digital background artists, and storyboard artists. the perspective tool seems only to be actually useful if you already have a shape or vanishing point guide to match to. Which the software doesn't currently do. Something similar to what Procreate offers in this area would change the game completely mvanzyl 1 Quote

The Perspective will require some practice… your welcome, fine that it is helpful I know that many graphics programs have their own stabilizer. But these Tools work in any Graphic Program and in some others it is quite useful. For example, i use the "Lazy Nezumi" stabilizer in FlamePainter 4. Quote
Scodman Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 hey that's interesting - thanks for the link! So this works like, what, a plugin-type deal? Can't wait to have a good look into it 2ddpainter 1 Quote

It is a separate, stand-alone program and has the ability to to capture the application you have chosen. From then on you can turn the functions on and off. Here is a small videohttps://lazynezumi.com/faq There are also a few tuts on youtube Quote
Scodman Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 had a good look at Hej Stylus on the mac - so much to love! such a simple and elegant design with heaps of features. Unfortunately the dealbreaker for me is that it sits on top of the drawing software rather than being integrated with it. What this means is that when I zoom, rotate or pan my canvas - which I do constantly and instinctively - the perspective guides and vanishing points do not move with it. So ultimately this doesn't end up being of much use to me - which is a huge shame. thanks for the tip though! So close. Quote
