spidermurph
Was there any useful info in my crash report?
spidermurph
I have taken time to check to see if any other programs will not load or have any trouble. The answer is no. This laptop has many programs installed. Adobe Creative Cloud with all apps Corel Graphic Suite Davinci Resolve Topaz Gigapixel Serif Plus Suite And many more. All of these programs work perfectly. Which makes me wonder. Is there anything that Affinity 2.0 needs to run that could be missing from my laptop. If anyone have any ideas I would love the help. Try the following: - uninstall all Afinity apps - reboot your PC - create a new Windows Acoount (with administrative rights) - install the Affinity Apps un der this new account. Also it woud be interesting to see which Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables are installed on you sysetm. Go to the Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features and scroll down to where it starts with "Microsoft Visual C++...." Post a screenshot of that section showing all entries. I gave this a try and got the same results. I also re-installed Windows in case something was missing or currupt. Still no luck.
spidermurph
Does anyone know of any software that conflicts with Affinity? I am trying to see if this is causing my issues.
spidermurph
I just tried downloading the Beta to see if that would work. But it does the same startup crash.

Staff Pauls Posted February 2 Staff Share Posted February 2 that would imply some sort of problem with a colour profile which I wouldn't expect on a clean install of windows
Staff Pauls Posted February 2 Staff Share Posted February 2 do you set the monitor device profile to anything unusual ? - if so try setting it to a generic sRGB profile
spidermurph
Hi Paul Just looking at that and there seems to be no listing for the monitor. Maybe that's the issue? Thank you so much for your help with this.
mopperle
There is not necessarily a specific profile for your monitor. Just choose a standard profile, should look similar to this: Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.4 - Windows 11 Pro
spidermurph
Thank you Otto I only seem to have profiles for printers and scanners. Not one for my display. I just checked on a different laptop and that has one. The identify display button does not seem to have any effect either.
mopperle
When click on the "Add" button, you should be able to choose a monitor profile. BTW. what kind of hardware do you have? CPU (desktop/notebook) with an onboard graphic chip, or do you have a dedicated graphic card? mopperle
Old stuff I suggest to go to NVIDIAs website and download the latest driver for your graphic chip. This should also install a monitor profile. Staff Pauls Posted February 2 Staff Share Posted February 2 could be worth checking Device Manager and its monitor section. it should list the built in monitor without any warnings
