tonyt Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Why is it that on a much smaller screen on iPad, brush names are included, but on an iMac they are not? also, why, when you move away from brushes and return the last brush used is not highlighted? It makes it really difficult to continue work with the same brush as used before. Do we really have to write down what brush we are using each time, or have I missed a trick?… which is quite possible! cheers… Quote

If you're using Photo 2 on desktop, the Layers panel records information for the brushes you've used in the layer, and allows you to switch back to any of the brushes you used there. 1 hour ago, tonyt said: why, when you move away from brushes and return the last brush used is not highlighted? It may lose its highlighting earlier than you realize. The Brushes panel just shows brush presets, and if you change any characteristics of the preset, such as adjusting the brush size, hardness, flow, etc. then you're no longer using that preset, and it loses its highlight in the panel. debraspicher 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. In Photo 2, look at any pixel layer you've painted on in Photo 2. You should see a brush icon on the layer in the Layers panel. Click on it to see the brush history and choose one. Maybe because only brush presets have names, so if the (last used?) brush settings were not the same as any preset then there would be no name to display? So not of much use to show the last brush selected.
