File won’t finish saving (been going over an hour now)

Tried working on a smaller file without any text since Courier is still broken/missing, and when I closed the document in order to save, it just won’t finish saving. The save window has been open and its animation has been circling for well over an hour now. I fear the file may become corrupted if I force close the app.

Why do you say Courier is broken?, works fine on my iPad Pro M1. Maybe check in Apple Pages that Courier is ok

Perhaps you have a problem with your iPad. Flash memory can get corrupted and if you have strange things happening that others don’t it may be sign of a problem with your iPad that needs to be fixed.

I would try in the following order until fixed:-

1. Close all apps then do a Forced Restart (See FAQ)

2. Save all your work outside the app sandbox in a folder structure you have created and delete and re-install the app.

3. Save all your work for all Affinity apps outside of the Affinity sandbox in a folder structure you have created and delete and re-install all the apps.

4. Backup your iPad e.g. to iCloud, erase iPad and restore from backup.

I posted about the problem with Courier already. Apple Pages has Courier New, as you have shown. Previously, I had been using just Courier (as shown in my screenshots), and the document formatting was broken, so I had to move my work back to the desktop app. Courier was broken/missing after I updated to iPadOS 16. I already tried deleting and reinstalling Publisher.

Anyway, my current issue is that my file will not complete the save process (it’s still going, by the way). I am worried that if I force close it that the file will become corrupted. But I suppose I don’t really have a choice since this is now more than 3 hours gone and isn’t likely to resolve itself at this point.

It may. Hopefully the worst case is it reverts to the earlier version. 😟
Returning to desktop only updates the sandbox file. If you have 'saved' your file externally you can at least go back to that.
