Browser / Palette for bitmap fillings

Recommended Posts

You can put bitmap files that you commonly use into the Assets panel, and then you can use that panel as your "browser".

Or you can use the file manager that comes up when you tell Affinity to use a Bitmap fill. It will be File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS), and it has settings to show you the thumbnail image.

But using either File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS) externally should also work in V2, as you can drag/drop onto the Fill field directly.

ok, that works, but would be nice if I can handle from inside the software.
More convenient is to use XnView (my standard quick view browser) as browser and to drag and drop from there

That can be done... I just done a drag-n-drop from XnView into the Fill Color Field for a Rectangle. I done a quick screen video showing this, AND a bonus. Member @Frozen Death Knight, brought this to our attention.

After filling a shape with a Bitmap, add a pixel layer, grab the Paint Brush Tool, and you can paint using the bitmap.... Have a look.
