My affinity Publisher file is corrupted, please help

Recommended Posts

The usual first 'trick' for this sort of thing is, after making sure that the file size is not zero (in which case there isn’t anything to restore), to create a new document and then add the pages of the problem document to the new document (via menu “Document → Add Pages from File”).

Unfortunately that doesn’t work in this case (for me at least) but someone else will probably see this and hopefully be able to help further.

That’s a shame, but it’s a nice ‘trick’ to know if the same sort of thing comes up in the future.

I know there is at least one forum member who has a ‘magic wand’ which can repair some documents, and the staff can usually help, so please don’t despair just yet. Someone with the necessary knowledge/tools is bound to come along soon.

I assume you have no backup

So...

What OS are you on?

If Mac check to see if Time Machine may have been activated in the past, if so, check that for a previous version of the file

If Windows check to see if File History may have been activated in the past, if so, check that for a previous version of the file

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
