Font Search Crash

So here is a thing, this happened to me before and thought it was just a glitch, well now its an every time occurrence. and can not do anything without it crashing, I have tried resetting affinity designer, uninstalling/reinstalling and it still does the issue. SO, I open up affinity and go to text and then place it on the canvas and then go up to the text box to change the text and BAM!!! It Crashes, and if I have been working on the affinity a while and go to text box and change text it crashes and does not recover any work that I have done. The application just comes back up with no windows opened on recover.

IDK if Its out dated or what but I am working with Affinity Designer 1.10.5.1342.

Any Ideas?

Hi Dekeb and welcome to the forum. I believe you're encountering this issue with a recent Windows update. The workaround until Microsoft fixes this is to uninstall the update(s).

But you have posted into the Bugs forum for Designer V2, rather than posting into the forum for Designer V1.

Don't worry, a Moderator will probably move it when they see this.

Just stumbled on an alternative workaround:

Using Style function and choosing a font works flawlessly! At least I'm able to continue with my work :)

UPDATE for anyone still using V1 Affinity applications -

Versions 1.10.6 of the Affinity suite have been released, which resolve these .NET Windows crashes.

Please see the below link for information on how to download and install these updates:

With the Affinity updates installed, you can now un-hide any previous Windows updates you have paused and install these without concern.
