All V1 products > Possible to switch to a V2 universal license?

Recommended Posts

I doubt there is some kind of 'scam' going on here. They are a small team, there were many (attempted) purchases, they were caught off guard as to that things went wrong, finding out whats going on exactly might be complex and takes time.

Nevertheless, I'd advise against buying a license right now since there are obviously problems with payment processing. I tried to purchase using paypal, and payment didn't go through for some reason. No money was taken from my bank account. Wait until those problems are sorted out, which they will eventually, I'm sure.

Don’t buy V2 now! Read the forums. People have been charged on their cards multiple times and they haven’t received any licenses. There is a scam going on! Serif taking money and not giving customers what they’ve purchased!

Obviously we refute this claim above.

Thanks for your feedback, and too bad there is no option for existing customers - but what is not, can still be 😇

Regarding the problems with payments made:
In 2020, when Corona broke out, our government provided emergency aid. The homepage was copied one-to-one by fraudsters, who intercepted the data of the customers, made the application on the original homepage and then entered their own account numbers.
Pretty ingenious and pretty sneaky, too bad people can be like that.
Anyway, in this context, I only thought of that ... 😑

I just got a response from customer service last night. And they sent me a screenshot of the failed transaction. Refer to the attached screenshot. It says “Gateway Rejected: CVV”. That means there as an error with the CVV?! In other card processing systems, an error in the CVV information should have automatically rejected the charge! But my card got charged! That means ther was some sort of bypass going on!!! Something’s NOT RIGHT! It’s either Serif’s system has been HACKED, or this this a SCAM! I think it doesn’t take a genius to figure this out!

I have a feeling we are NEVER GETTING OUR MONEY BACK.

There is no upgrade option unfortunately, you need to purchase a new V2 license.

I bought my license last year. It was sold as a Perpetual license and now they are saying that upgrade to version 2 of same software requires payment. How is this different from a subscription? Why do they call it as Perpetual license if upgrades are not free?

Because it is yours to keep perpetually, not one that's subscribed to and stops working.
