I am not sure if this can simply be adjusted via some settings somewhere, if this is supposed to be a feature of some kind, but I have noticed a really annoying behavior in Affinity Photo 2. And that has to do with unwanted tool switching. I have noticed that pressing the space bar to navigate the document switches between 2 different tools when releasing it. Meaning, that if I use the space bar to go to another area of the document, then release the space bar, the first time I release it, the Move tool is selected. If I press space bar again, navigate somewhere, then release it, Affinity Photo selects the brush tool. When I have the brush or the eraser tool selected, and adjust the size of the brush with CTRL + ALT shortcut, then release CTRL + ALT, it doesn't select the brush tool again as it obviously should, but selects the move tool instead. Only when I press CTRL + ALT again, adjust size again, the brush tool is selected. What gives? Sometimes when I have the BRUSH tool selected and adjust the brush size with CTRL + ALT, it switches to the ERASER tool when I release the keys. This behavior is driving me absolutely nuts! I was beginning to doubt my sanity! What is this, is this supposed to be a feature? It almost looks like intentional behavior, though I don't see who could possibly want behavior like this by default. Is there a simple setting I need to adjust to get behavior that I can actually work with, or is this a bug?

Please introduce a separate, large icon for groups in the Layers panel. Right now, there is a group icon visible when all layers within that group are hidden, but once the layers are visible, the group icon is replaced with a thumbnail of its contents. This is a very bad design choice. In previous versions of Affinity there was a greyed out text next to the layer visible to indicate its type. There is no such description in version 2.x, making it very hard to see at first glance what type a layer actually is. There needs to be an icon that clearly indicates the layer type, especially for groups. Right now, in version 2.x, it absolutely unclear what type a layer is, making groups from pixel layers or other layer types virtually indistinguishable. With lots of layers, this makes the layer list very, very confusing and unclear. I am aware of this little icon to the left of each layer, which e.g. is a small arrow for groups, but this icon is very unclear, and too small. I need to look at the list a long time to be able to find the next group in the list between different other layer types. Please set the group icon that is visible when layers within the group are hidden to be visible at all times (the folder icon, obviously without crossed circle).

Tested the newest Photo 2 beta version (2.1.0.1709), and the problem seems to be fixed there already. It doesn't crash when adding the curves adjustment. Crash still happens for me in the official 2.0.4 release. Didn't submit a crash report for that reason.

Adding a 'Curves' Adjustment to an image created from clipboard crashes the application. Copy an image to the clipboard (e.g. PrintScr), select File -> New from Clipboard. Try to add a Curves Adjustment to the image. Photo 2 crashes instantly. It only crashes when creating the image from clipboard, adding a Curves Adjustment to an existing image (opened from the harddrive) works.

With brush tool active you can temporarily activate the color picker tool and pick a color from the open image already, but there is no indication that the picker tool is actually active when pressing down the ALT key. The brush tool/ display of brush radius remains. This makes it really difficult to pick from a specific area, since you can't see the exact spot you are actually picking from especially when the brush radius is large. Long story short, when the brush tool is active and you press the ALT key to pick a color, the brush icon should temporarily change to a color picker icon with cross hair, so you can actually see the exact pixel you are picking the color from. EDIT: I'm talking nonsense here. When you don't just left-click, but hold down pen/ mouse button, there is a detailed display of the area I'm picking from. Missed that, sorry. Case closed.

This feature already exists. With brush tool active press CTRL + ALT over the open image, then move pen/mouse left-right to resize the brush, and up-down to adjust the hardness.

I doubt there is some kind of 'scam' going on here. They are a small team, there were many (attempted) purchases, they were caught off guard as to that things went wrong, finding out whats going on exactly might be complex and takes time. Nevertheless, I'd advise against buying a license right now since there are obviously problems with payment processing. I tried to purchase using paypal, and payment didn't go through for some reason. No money was taken from my bank account. Wait until those problems are sorted out, which they will eventually, I'm sure.

There is no upgrade option unfortunately, you need to purchase a new V2 license.

This is ridiculous. I feel very little motivation to retry my failed purchase, get charged twice for the same thing, and then try to get back my money. I've got better things to do.

Just tried to purchase Designer 2 + Photo 2 using Paypal at checkout (regardless of all the bugs listed in the other forums, I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt that they will be fixed quickly). Authorized the payment with paypal, was redirected back to the Affinity site afterwards, but still only the order summary is displayed. Payment wasn't registered. Payment is listed in my Paypal account as "authorized", and willl expire within 1 day.

When I read about these problems of the apps not even installing (I will not mess with the system registry either or look for workarounds, when other developers can create applications without the necessity to do this), and all the bugs/ instabilities ect. listed in the forum and elsewhere, there is no way I'm getting version 2 right now. Too bad, was looking forward to the new version.
