Something going on/changed with the develop persona in v2 on MacOS Ventura 13.0.1 If I open an tif image in AP, and click develop persona, theres a white/grey haze over

the entire image. All the adjustment sliders are set to 0. This doesn't happen in AP 1.10.5.What am I missing/doing wrong?

Without a screenshot, I'm assuming the white/grey haze is nothing more than the image appearing dull and lacking contrast. This is normal, unless you have the Develop Assistant settings to Apply Exposure Bias, and Tone Curve. AP provides you with the RAW data, no camera applied settings, so you can control how you want your images to look.

The sliders by default are at 0 when you first open an image in the Develop Persona. The TIFF file you're referring to, have you developed/processed it in the Develop Persona, and taking it back into the Develop Persona for further tweaking, processing?

Yes, a screenshot of the complete application window would be useful. They said this is when opening a TIFF file. It's less common for those files to be RAW format, but possible, I think.

According to the description of "If I open an tif image in AP, and click develop persona, theres a white/grey haze over", it looks like the haze will only appear in the Develop persona. Could this be a problem with the Column Guides setup? Although their haze effect would also show up in Photo persona.

Yes it is, if the file contains a RAW file. I just tested this, by developing one of my RAW (CR2) files. Then exported as a TIFF. When I opened the TIFF, it had the RAW file, and I was able to develop it further in the Develop Persona. Furthermore, the settings in the Develop Persona were preserved.

However the file did not have a white/grey haze.

That's not what I was referring to. There are some cameras that can produce RAW TIFFs, I think (from info in other topics here). And also some other apps that can do it.

Just to confirm, is it the same tif file in both personas?
And just curious, why are you opening an already developed tif image in Develop persona?

Yes it is. I wanted to do some final stuff on it.

Thanks for confirming. I couldn't find the file name on your screenshot 2. In my Win version, the filename is listed in both Personas.

I haven't done any thing to the picture you see in Develop Persona. It's just how it shows up after opening it in Photo Persona, and then clicking on Develop Persona.

I understand - I asked what reason you have for switching to Develop persona, i.e. what features does it offer that you cannot do in Photo persona on an already developed tif file.

Ah, OK. Well in this case i was just going to check if a little bit more contrast, clarity and maybe some saturation would make any difference. Thats the way I have done it before.

However, Adjustments or Live Filter are available in Photo persona for this, with which you can non-destructively adjust the required parameters according to your needs.

P.S. don't you want to provide the mentioned TIF file for testing (post it on the forum)? It could then be verified whether it is a systematic error in APhoto or just a local one on your PC.
