Unless I’m misunderstanding something about the new UI, the Layers palette shows all layers in one big flat list in Photo v2 on iPadOS. It seems like opening a v1 file has resulted in the loss of all layer groups. I’ve reproduced this with three different v1 files.

No, the small > icon replaces the small triangle to open up a layer or group, everything is there as before.

When I open the layers palette, every layer is at the top level, in a single list. There are no groups. All the layers themselves are present, but are in a flat, single list, without any of my groups.

Hi @Matt Gemmell,
Welcome to affinity Forums :)
Do you mind sharing one of these V1 files that lose the groups/layer stack hierarchy when opened in version 2 please?
I can provide a dropbox/upload link if you wish to keep the file private, just let me know. Thanks.

Actually, I’m an idiot, sorry. You can close this. I was accidentally opening an exported PDF of the relevant file, rather than the afphoto file, so of course the layers list was flatted.

I was initially confused by just seeing the Affinity Photo folder’s contents on my iPad, rather than the projects and open files I have in v1. I expected to see the same files that I had in v1, but I’ve read that iPadOS’ sandboxing doesn’t permit them to be automatically imported. I’ll save all my v1 files from version 1 into Files, then load them into v2 again. When I did so with a sample file, the layer groups were perfectly intact.

Apologies for the spurious bug report. Let me know if I should delete this topic myself!
