Sharpening Not Staying with Export

Recommended Posts

Not only export but merge visible will lose any sharpening as well. The top pic is a screen shot within AP, the bottom is a jpg export from AP. Export was Bilinear at 100% quality - no size reduction. Running Windows 10 Home.  Any insight would be appreciated!

You need to make sure that you evaluate any functions like sharpening with your zoom level set to 100% or higher. If you sharpen while viewing with a zoom level less than 100% you won't see the actual results.

OK, did that and it looks the same. But there is still a noticeable difference between the two when viewing normally. Or is that just the difference between before and after export as I can see the jpg is duller looking. I imagine brightening the highlights and extra saturation could correct the look after the fact. Thanks for the input. In the future I will check sharpening at 100%.

You're welcome.

As for "dullness", I would need a lot more information to make any guesses, including having the actual .afphoto file just before export, the exported file, the export settings you used, and info about what program you're using to view the exported JPG.

Good morning, Walt. I would appreciate your input if you have the time. Here is the AP file. As far as viewing, I am going on Windows file viewer but also different tabs in AP. And honestly, I have know idea what the differences are in export Resamples: image.png.59b26fad924a1caee07d3becdbc372c9.png

I just use Bilinear as a default.
