I have been using Affinity Photo on 2 macs both using the intel chip and I purchased them via the App Store.

I have upgraded one of the macs to an M2 chip. They are both running the same OS Monterey and are both logged into the app store. However, the M2 machine says I have to purchase Affinity Photo again, hopefully this is not the case. Would be grateful for information as to how I can install it on my new machine

Hi @Astrobiker,

If your Affinity app purchase was made through the Mac App Store it is tied to your Apple ID, and will also not require a Product Key. If you need to install it again, run the Mac App Store ensuring that you are signed in with the same account/credentials used to complete the purchase and the button which usually says "Buy" should instead say "Install", click on it to begin the installation of the program.

If you find that this is not happening, please contact Apple for further assistance.

Thank you but what you describe only works INTEL to INTEL

I am trying to install on INTEL and M2

It should work for both, as each Affinity app is a single application that will work for either architecture.

Are you sure you're signed-in to the MAS with the same Apple ID?

Or perhaps you need to sign-out and sign-in again.

PROBLEM SOLVED

thank you for the replies the solution was indeed to change the icloud account. I remembered that i bought it ages ago so tried my old apple id and that worked. I do wish apple would let you merge ids
